When I've approached eBay in the past, I have been told tough and change your mail address.
This is an email and not an internal message.
If eBay adopted amazon style of communication where account email addresses aren't given to sellers but through a proxy this would never happen.
More importantly eBay seem happier to do nothing about this, yet act upon naming and shaming.
I would have thought the naming and shaming of spammers would be valuable service.
