how do I retract a bad feedback when the seller has been more than helpful
You can't, you shouldn't have left it in the first place. ALWAYS contact the seller before jumping in with a negative.
SELLER has to send a Feedback Revision Request, he can find the link at the bottom of his Feedback Page.
