i dont undersand how people can make money on ebay selling cheap stuff with the fees involved??
a typical example i list an item for 99p insertion fee 35p
it sells for £1.99 final value fee 20p
final value fee on postage cost of £1.50 =15p
and then 32p paypal fee
in sumary
total fees are 35p +20p +15p +32p £1.02
so unless i charge more for postage i make 87p
and ive got to use tape wrapping etc and go to post office
i guess ive answered my own question dont list cheap items on feebay
just to point out it clearly states in the listing everything will be listed
also clearly states the item for sale is etc etc
You have 20 free listings a month, plus another 100 if you get a promotion.
You don't have to start auctions at 99p. You should start at the lowest price you would be happy to accept.
To be honest, if you sell something for 99p, making 87p is not too shoddy. the fees are all clearly stated in the terms and conditions that you signed up to.
Yopu sre not really allowed to charge more for postage, except a small amount to cover packaging. Charge more for your items instead.
I should point out that if you are selling a retro popeye clock that should be the only thing in the photo. Some buyer will come along and expect to recieve everything in the picture, and could claim "not as described" when they don't get it.
