fee cancelling problems

Hi, I bought a CD Player a few weeks back that turned out to be faulty. It was a local cash purchase and the lady agreed to take the CD player back and refund the money which she kindly did. I can't see a method of cancelling the deal though so that she gets a refund on her fees. I don't see why she should have to pay fees on something she has had to take back and feel bad for the woman but I can't see an option on ebay to sort this out. Can you guys offer me a link or advice?

The seller has to initiate the cancellation - buyers can't cancel. What she should have done is ask you to open a case for item not as described, she could then have refunded you through the case and her fees would have been refunded.

You could send her this link for information on cancelling a transaction:

When a cancellation is made this usually triggers a refund but I don't think this will happen if she refunded you through the transaction in PayPal. A PayPal payment can't be refunded twice. If she sent the refund as a gift payment it may mean that you'll get another refund which you'll have to send back to her as a gift (or friends and family) payment.

PS  Apologies - I've just realised that this was a collection item so it wouldn't have been possible to use a 'not as described' case to refund - so ignore that part! And as you paid cash there won't be any PayPal refund to worry about. Sorry - I must read things more carefully.
