fake addresses

I've just noticed that the number purchases on ebay are down a lot on what they were last year. The chief reason for that is the "fraudulent" use of UK addresses. Try this out. A small purchase that I needed quickly - Strong Neodymium Noticeboard Skittle Men Pin Magnets. To get them posted quickly I ticked the UK only box. Have a look at the list you get, they almost all say "From China" dispite the UK only choice. This means it was hard to find any that would arrive in under 40 days. It is far quicker to look elsewhere to find genuine UK traders (many of whom offer next day delivery).
I think ebay either needs to crack down on this abuse or its days as my first choice buyer are over.

Your're being exploited by the sharks and you don't even seem to care they're in the water.

Try this out for yourself - am I wrong?

Many Chinese / Far Eastern sellers,  do have depots here from where their items are dispatched.

If you see on the listing from a UK location,  it is coming from a UK depot,  and the delivery times,  as shown,  should be quicker,  than an item coming directly from China,  as you rightly say,  can take a month plus.

The seller may well be registered in China,  but it's the location on the listing that matters from where it is actually being dispatched from,  and if not as described on receipt,  it is to there it is posted back,  and not to China.

As @tressygirl rightly [and kindly] points out there are Chinese sellers who have a depot in the UK.

The delivery times will - if so - be much the same as any other UK seller.  Possibly under a week.  If - in fact - the items are sent from China then when the [UK??] delivery date is past simply open a non-receipt case and ignore the seller.

That way you may get the goods and a refund.  "Serve them right?"
