ebay website using all the CPU

I am recently finding ebay pages hanging up and maxing out the CPU usage on my PC. This is with 2 different PCs on Win7 and both IE and Chrome browsers. It does not make any difference being logged in or not. The hanging up seems to come from animated adverts in the right hand margin. It takes about a minute for each page to load and then allow scrolling down the page. Other websites are working as normal. Any ideas?

Hmmm, I don't seem to be able to reply on this topic, only edit the original question......

Re ad blockers suggestion, well these ads have been habitually embedded in ebay for a long time and did not cause the CPU problem before. I'm only guessing that the ads are causing the problem, the entire pages are slow to load but perhaps seem to be hanging on the ads, or when the ad refreshes to a new one.I never needed to use an ad blocker before. What would be a safe one to try?
