ebay rip off

Well I won't be selling anything else for collection only on fleabay due to their policy of KEEPING MY MONEY!

Clearly this is so they can earn interest from other peoples money.

Just sold several items but with no tracking I'm dependent on the buyers leaving positive feeedback. So now when the buyers come to collect I'm forced into asking them to leave positive feedback in order for me to get my money. Not something I really want to be doing, but I have no choice.

One out of the three has done this (still waiting for my money?!?) but nothing from the other two. What a joke!

Never again - time to look at the alternatives.

why don't you just ask for cash on collection?

that way you get your money straight away!

of course you are allowed to ask for cash on collection, you are just not allowed to refuse paypal if the buyer wants to pay that way.

The alternative is to take cash when the item is collected!

Instant cash!  No Paypal fees!

Paypal is dangerous for sellers on  collection.  The buyer "could" deny having collected the item and as you would be required to prove delivery by tracking and as that would be impossible you would have to refund.

wow scarey stuff.
Funnily enough when I asked one of the buyers to leave feedback he said the last time he collected an item the seller photographed it in the back of his car!
I didn't think I could ask for cash on collection, so I'll have to look into how to do that.

Even photographing the buyer would not necessarily help.  EBay requires proof by tracking.  It might help with police but they are not really going to get involved for small amounts
