eBay withholding payment of sold item

Sold an item on eBay, buyer happy with purchase, positive feedback left both buyer and seller. eBay will not release funds to seller no reason given. Despite numerous contacts with eBay still funds not released. Surely this is theft!! Next step contact police I think. What does community think?

eBay can hold funds for up to 21 days for new/infrequent sellers.

Did you enter the tracking number when despatched? as this can speed things up.

I think the Police will think that you're extremely daft and most likely will get a bit cross with you for wasting Police time over a held eBay payment.

Do you have a tracking number showing delivery, or has your buyer left feedback? 

Either of those will speed up the release of your payment.
