eBay has taken money from account even though app said payment failed so no order has gone through

I went to buy an £800 MacBook today when eBay said my payment failed (via debit) which I thought was weird because I was sure I had enough. I then tried again and it said the same thing. I then tried PayPal and that said I had insufficient funds. I then went to check my banking app and the money for the item had been taken (pending) and I had received no email or app update- and nor had the seller. Just wondering if anyone has any resolutions because it seems it’s impossible to speak to a real eBay customer service agent.
