eBay have informed me via File Exchange page that File Exchange will be disappearing in June 2021 and that we are to use the new reports on the Reports tab in Seller Hub. I have just had a look at the reports there as we use File Exchange extensively for accounting and managing stock levels. There does not seem to be a like for like replacement on any reports on File Exchange. Some reports are combined, new field names are used and some fields have been combines with new names as well. Quite a bit of work to unpick in the three weeks left.
My biggest issue at the moment is that they have changed the CSV encoding standard from that used on File Exchange. An example is an auction title that has a comma in it used to just be framed with speech marks, e.g. "Brand new widget for X, Y or Z", in the new reports eBay are using two quotes for such lines but only 1 quotes for entries that do not contain commas, eg (""Brand new widget for X, Y or Z""). All of the tools that I use for parsing and processing the reports can not deal with this change (mainly excel and python). Excel will split the title above in the new reports across two cells so those lines will not align with all the other lines above and below (one cell will have 'Brand new widget for X' in and the next will have 'Y or Z""' in it.
Does anyone else have this issue and if so how are you getting excel or python to recognised this different way on encoding text fields within CSV files.
I was told by eBay to submit a comment on the reports page but I get a message stating I am not authorised to submit comments.
Any help would be appreciated, time is running out.
You may be better asking on the seller central at the top of the page under Disussions
More chance of having someone else having the problem on there
