eBay don't allow me to buy a knife

Hi I am trying to buy a Gerber strongarm in BDZ-1 steel, and eBay for some reason decided that I can't do it (even though I have big knife collection most of them from eBay) the message I am getting is: Dear Buyer
To prevent the circumvention of the eBay.co.uk and eBay.ie Weapon and Knives policy, it is not possible for you to bid on, or buy this item.

The type of knife you are tryng to buy is prohibited from sale on eBay.co.uk.

EBay has correctly informed you that it is not possible for you to bid on, or buy this item.

Knives can only be sold on eBay in very limited circumsatance, e.g. cutlery knives as part of a cutlery set, and then only on proof of age.

Funny that, because I have bought exactly the same knife (only in different steel) on eBay with no problem, and I have contacted the seller and he said that he never had a problem with selling on eBay to UK before.

It is perhaps seen as the most unfair part of eBay that "others get away with it"! EBay no doubt has algorithms to try to pick things up and also relies on reports from members of items which breach policy. All that works to a limited degree.

Yes. To prove that you are over 18 you need to have a valid credit card registered with eBay/Paypal.  How you have managed in the past is a mystery unless - if you have a CC on file - it has expired.
