Hi, I wanted to sell an item, but when came to payments I saw this:
Your fees will be converted to your billing currency using the daily exchange rate.
Listing Currency: Pound Sterling
Billing Currency: Euro
How can I change billing currency to Pounds and avoid being charged twice on exchange rates?
When I click "Change your billing currency" I get this:
You need to have an eBay seller's account if you want to change your billing currency.
- Learn more about creating a seller's account.
- To register your account and start selling, use the "Sell" button at the top of any eBay page.
Ok, I learned more - to have a seller's account I have to set up automatic payments...
My linked PayPal account is operating in GBP. So I'm trying to setup automatic payments:
You cannot sign up for automatic PayPal payments at this time.
- Have an eBay seller's account. If you are trying to pay for an item, learn how to pay your seller.
- Be registered on eBay's Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, Austria, US or UK Sites.
- Pay your eBay seller's fees in Australian, Canadian or US dollars, Euro, Great British Pounds or Yen
This is like a deadloop... do you have any ideas what might be wrong here?
Cheers
UPDATE: CHANGING ADDRESS
Thanks for letting me know about change country option. I've just followed procedure given by eBay:
1. Go to the Change Registration Information page. You will need to sign in to see this page.
2. Once there, scroll down to the Country field and choose your country from the drop-down menu.
3. Click the change registration information button.
4. Review your changes and if they're correct, click the submit button.
I see I have previously changed country to UK when I moved. I can only confirm it shows my correct UK address.
After submitting information again it still doesn't allow me to change billing currency.
UPDATE 2: INTERNATIONAL TRADING
Thank you fargvs for your update.
In my case eBay doesn't prevent me to sell item in UK. I think when my address is now based in UK and item is for sale in UK it is automatically treated as a domestic sale. I don't need 10 comments from Austria to start auction in UK, but I will be charged in Euros and this cannot be changed.
Although based in UK, you are getting this message because your account is registered in Austria.

Edit.... noted that additional information has been added to your original post...
Registered in Austria > to/from < UK = International trading ....
You need 10 domestic sales on your registered home site before being allowed international access. This link may be useful:-

To add ...... If still having problems, Customer Service input may be required to make account changes.
