eBay bid cancellation notice received

Hi, I’m new to selling! I’ve listed an item at 0.99p starting bid and have received a bid. But I have now received an email stating the bid has been cancelled (don’t know why). But I’m not sure if I’m supposed to do anything? As there is no other bidder, it won’t go to the previous highest bidder. Can someone please explain the procedure?? Thanks!!

Yes the buyer retracted their bid yesterday

Yo had two bidders on that item

You still have one bid on it from another bidder at 99p

Click on the number of bids in brackets (1) and then scroll down the page to see why the bidder retracted

If they did it for a reason that is not valid then report them

You can only do that while the listing is live

See the link to the bottom of the page or there may be a link to report on the page

https://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/invalid-bid-retraction.html

Without a bid it won't sell and will finish and then show in your unsold items.

As you have a bid it will sell for 99p, the person who retracted was probably trying to find out how much the other person had bid. They retracted almost instantaniously, so they make a practice of doing this and should be reported. 10 Bid retractions in 6 months is 9 more than I have made in 16 years.
