My brothers account was suspended permanantly last yr and eBay won't tell us why, he alway paid his fees on time and did nothing wrong.
Since then, he has been using my eBay account as I never really used it and he only buys on the account now.
He uses the account on his laptop browser or a browser on his phone.
I spoke to an eBay representative and asked them if he logs into my account on the eBay app on his phone (the same phone which his account was suspended on) will my account get suspended as well because its on the same device. They said it will not get suspeded but I don't know if thats true or not.
We are wondering if my account will get banned if he logs into it on the app on his phone just to buy and not sell anything. According to eBay it won't get suspended but do you guys know anything else about this from experience? He has logged into it on his phone but nothing has happened so we are hoping it will stay that way.
When a member is permanently restricted from selling eBay also restricts any other account that the "associate" with the restricted account.
This can include anyone who has logged in to eBay using the same connected device. Personally, I very much doubt whether eBay will distinguish between loggin in to buy and logging in to sell. The aim is to prevent restricted users from selling again using family or friends' accounts.
EBay is famous for saying one thing, and doing another. I don't know for how long eBay continues to monitor restricted users, but in your position, I'd keep well clear of any connected device your brother uses.
If he uses your account to buy or sell then your account can be permanently suspended by association, and in most cases anyone that gets a permanent account restriction also leads to the same,so don't do it and hope your not flagged just for asking ebay about it!!
