eBay Selling Charges

I have just sold an item on eBay at a price of £60.00 + £5.00 pastage

With this new system eBay have held the payment for a number of days (one assumes eBay place the payment in an account that shows them a return) .  eBay then let you know that they are paying you less their charges which in this case came to £9.62 which is an extortionate  rate of 16%

I find it disgusting that what was a good and genuine trading platform has become a money grabbing concern with no regard for its users

I will never again place any items for sale on eBay

Its a CON

read about the new system here:-

https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/getting-paid/introducing-managed-payments-ebay?id=4795

the final value fee for private sellers is 12.8% plus 30p

which is less than you paid when the fee was split between ebay and paypal

EBay don't hold Payments. Adyen their Payment Processor process your Payment and deduct your Selling Fees charged at 12.8% + 30p. Which takes a couple of days. The Balance is then Paid into your Bank Account, which takes 2 - 4 days to Clear through their System.

The potential market place is vast on eBay.  The cost is considerably less than if sold in a traditional auction and is a tiny bit less than previously.  Commission of 20-25% + VAT is seen and most add [as a cheek] a "buyer's premium" so that they get it both ways.
