I have a buyer who has purchased one of my items and paid (i don't know wether via paypal or bank). I have no payment options set up on my ebay account and as such the funds are being held by ebay. The buyer did not read the ad correctly as it was for collection only and has asked me to cancel the transaction, I have tried to do this but all I get is "cannot cancel due to no payment options being set up" meaning I have to set up a payment option to allow the refund to occur. I completely stumped any suggestions? I have been in contact with the buyer and asked if they can retract from there end, suggestions please
What do you mean NO PAYMENT OPTIONS, you can't list without these - there are payment options on your listing.
If however you have not completed the information required for Managed Payments then you can't be paid. How the buyer has paid makes no difference, as a new seller you would be subject to a 21 day hold on the money, and the only way to get it released early is TRACKED PROOF OF DELIVERY.
I suggest that you go to Payments at the top of the Seller Hub page where you should see any money that is being held.
The buyer can't retract, the sale has happened and you should be able to cancel using reason "Buyers Request".
