confusing/misleading message from ebay regarding a purchase

Hi there, I bought and paid for an item (external hard drive) just over a couple of weeks ago.  Today I went into the 'purchase history' section of my ebay to see when I could expect it to arrive and found the following message from ebay;

"We had to remove this listing from the site and you're not required to complete the transaction. If you've already sent payment, the sale should process as normal and you don't have anything to worry about. If you have any questions about delivery, please check tracking or contact your seller. If you run into any trouble along the way eBay is here to help. Please visit the Resolution Centre to help resolve any problems you may encounter."

Can anyone illumiate me as to what's going on?  It seems that ebay are saying '...this item/listing is inappropriate/incorrect and should not have been on ebay, but if you've paid for it then that's okay'.  Which is a bit of a confusing message.  Am i going to get the item, or do I need to raise a problem and get a refund (I paid by paypal)?  The seller is still registered, but doesn'thave any items for sale.

If ebay have removed the item then you may still recieve it

It could have been removed for many reasons and not all of them a problem with the item

If you do not recieve your item then open a not recieved dispute.

Open a not recieve dispute in paypal and escalate it as soon as you can but within 20 days
