What is this Ebay con, whereby you click on an item and it automatically says you have committed to buy evem though you have not gone to the checkout basket, or given the opportunity to emove said item from baskek? The help says you can cancel within an hour, which I did after 10 mins and it said too late.
You cannot win by clicking on an item......you can if you click Buy Now
This sounds like you are using an app...in which case you need to be very careful what you select
The 1 hour is nonsense...........the seller is charged as soon as a liting ends
• There is NO RIGHT OF CANCELLATION on eBay
•
• You can ask the seller, but they have already been charged fees & may have lost other potential buyers as a result of your actions so they may not agree
•
• If the seller was a UK registered business then you will have the right to return the goods by a tracked service at your own expense for a refund
•
• Bidding is a serious matter & changing your mind simply is not grounds to cancel
•
• It is likely that the seller will open an unpaid case to get their fees refunded & you would then earn an unpaid strike.......
•
• If that happened again within 12 months then many sellers will refuse to deal with you
You are not speaking to eBay here! They do not read the posts and they do - I believe - discourage suggestions as to how to run their business.
Most of us - I think - cope well with "Buy it Now" which is a useful method of buying things that you need rather than - perhaps - "want".
Many BINs are put in by businesses and they will have a contact and may cancel the sale. If they are UK businesses then if you have bought you can return
if you click 'buy it now' you have committed to buy the item
if you are not sure whether you want to buy it, don't use the 'buy it now' use the 'add to basket'
