combined postage

Hi - I'm posting some items on ebay and some of them i have more than one so when i put the quantity at 2 its throwing up a second postage box - each addtional item,  Does this mean only on this particular item or does this mean on everything I'm selling?  I think it is the former but would like to doublecheck as this could lead to me having some problems.
