I have a number of items which I consider too bulky or heavy to post therefore have listed them as collection only. I am getting numerous people buying these items, paying by paypal and expecting me to post them - which I clearly cannot do. I am having to refund these buyers but I'm still being expected to pay the fees to paypal. How can I stop people buying these 'Collection Only' items who have no intention of actually collecting them ?
There is no way to stop them apart from puttnig clear instructions in your descrptions. Also make sure you refund via an ebay cancellation, rather than from Paypal. That way at least you should get your ebay fee back.
Go to More Actions, far right of the item on your sold list > Cancel order > Something wrong with buyer's address (nearest to this situation as buyer is too far away to collect). It's the only option that does not need buyer agreement and does not put a defect on your account.
