I am a complete newbie on ebay with a business account.
I had successfully posted 33 listings and had taken 10 orders when ebay put a restriction on my account and deleted all of my listings.
At the same time they seem to have contacted my purchasers and told them the items they have paid for do not exist and that they should open a dispute.
Consequently I spent most of yesterday evening responding to irate complaints (which I have managed to sort out, most buyers seem to be reasonable people).
I have already taken payment for and packaged all of the orders ready for sending after the bank holiday. I am using my own franking machine.
Having got to this stage I am finding the email that ebay sent to resolve the issue is useless, it just takes me to a 'request limit increase page'.
The link on the email (http://ocsnext.ebay.co.uk/ocs/cusr?query=2502&domain=email1505) seems to suggest a domain/email issue, especially as the intro mentions 'As part of our security checks, we sometimes require a seller to contact us so that we can verify their information.'.
I did some research and discovered paypal and ebay emails were different but from the same domain, does anybody think this may have been the problem?
Also, I may have forgotten to turn off my VPN during one or two ebay/paypal logins - is this an issue?
I have made a one-off payment to clear my ebay fees, even though they have not been invoiced yet.
When I look at the deleted listings in UNSOLD, ebay have put this below them - 'eBay note: This listing has been cancelled due to a policy breach. See My Messages for more details.'. I cannot believe all of the listings breach listing policies.
As an added frustration the 'Have us call you' function is not available so I cannot speak to anyone to get a resolution.
Automated help is as useful as a chocolate fireguard.
Can any more experienced sellers help me with either getting through to ebay or identifying what might have caused the issue?
Many thanks if you have stayed until the end,
Using a VPN whilst on eBay could cause a few different problems including when you try to contact eBay.
Different rules can apply to different countries, another problem with VPN
It's hard to advise you with so little information. All we know is that your listings were removed for "a policy breach", but this could mean anything. These messages generally indicate which policy, e.g. counterfeits or brand name misuse.
If you had told us what sort of items you were selling we could possibly have suggested where any problems may lie.
Assuming that you made these sales on the account you used to ask this question, your entire listings and sales history has been deleted. This does at least confirm that the message was authentic, and from eBay.
If you want to edit your question to add more information someone here may be able to help you, otherwise I'm afraid you just have to keep on trying to contact eBay customer support. This has become very difficult during the covid situation.
