account hacked

I ve had 2 unauthorised purchases made from my account and money has been taken from my bank account. As advised by an ebay rep I have contacted both sellers and explained that it wasn't me and want to cancel the order and get a refund. One of the seller's has replied and refunded me but still not heard anything from the other one and this was 2 days ago! I m getting worried that this other seller might be bogus and the purchase was for cryptic currency, to the value of £68, I m not sure what to do next, can anyone help? Thanks in advance... Mel x

The eBay rep should sort this out for you, not ask you to contact sellers.

If you click on the Help & Contact tab, top left of this page, and type in 'hijacked account', the links will come up to report it correctly.

Most importantly, you need to work out how your account was compromised in the first place. You should be aware of how to stay online, and each site that you use (particularly financial ones) MUST have a password that is unique to that site. Your most important account is actually your email, because once somebody has access to that, it's a gateway to every other account you own.

Hpw as your bank account accessed? If you've linked your PayPal account to eBay's Faster Checkout, unlink it now. This has got to be the worse feature eBay have ever come up with in terms of security. Once an eBay account has been accessed, so has the PayPal account. Always make sure that you have to separately log into PayPal to authorise a payment.

If you use the same passwords for eBay and PayPal, this was always a potential security issue, and you need to contact PayPal about any unauthorised payments.
