Hi there
I just sold a macbook pro on ebay (or at least I hope I did!)
I received an email from ebay that seems like payment has been made. But there's nothing that I can see that says payments are on hold in the system and I'm worried that because I had collection in person as an option, that the buyer is able to click something which says "I've paid" without them actually making a payment. Is that a risk?
The full email from ebay definitely reads like I should have got a payment, but the wording about them having 'confirmed the payment' worries me! Here's the full email:
Good news, your item has been paid for.
Your buyer has confirmed the payment of £xxx. It’s time to pack up your item and post it off. Make sure you send it within 3 days, the dispatch option you selected in your listing.
Payouts of available funds are initiated within 2 working days of order confirmation. Once eBay initiates a payout, funds will be available in your bank account per normal bank processing times.
Your item has sold, and you have received payment for it, if it needs to be posted, do so asap.
You are under eBay's Managed Payments, so the process now is this .....
eBay then first take their fees from money received from a sale, and send the remainder to your nominated bank account. This takes 1 - 2 business working days.
Your bank then takes 1 - 4 business working days to process those funds, before they become available for you to withdraw.
Weekends of course being non working days, delay the process a little.
Go to your payments tan top of eBay page, click on Summary, that will show you the status of payouts. You can there, choose daily or weekly payouts.
