I live in a remote place . World wide covid protocols have added a lot of time to world wide deliveries. I ask folk in my selling descritions to be patient and explain the products journey to them and sell the item. Our items will take 3 to 5 months to get there, but some folk start a case of none delivery through ebay almost right away. We are asked to work with the buyer. I message the customer explaining what was said on the item description. They do not respond , I am asked to resolve the issue and message again , they do not respnd, The case runs out of time, EBay refunds the payment. The goods will arrive but are not returned and I am out of pocket for the goods and postage. I assume the buyer has ignored the returns policy as well. Possibly an intended scam from the beginning.
They should not be able to start a case for non delivery until the day after the date that ebay tells them to expect delivery. If I buy one of your postcards today it is giving the latest date as early June, so I should not be able to open a case before then. However, I also understand that ebay does not like long delivery estimates and allows buyers to open cases after 30 days from purchase, even if this is before the estimated delivery date. If this is the case, then they will be able to open one while the item is in transit and get a refund. Whether they are scamming, or just can't understand why it would take so long and think it's never coming, I don't know. Presumably you don't use tracking so will never know when, or if, it actually arrives?
