Why is the other bidder a private listing - bidder identity protected? Could thet be the seller?

Unlikely as ebay would detect a seller bidding on their own items.

It is a silly member who either wants to hide their feedback, there might be something in it they do not want anyone to see, or they think that as a private member they should have Private Bidding.

As I say silly, as all bids are anonymous and have been for many years, just showing as a***b for example.

I rarely have any private bids and if I did have a winning bidder who was a private bidder i would not bother leaving feedback as no one can see it so what is the point.

If you feel uncomfortable with it, retract your bid.
