Why doesn't eBay review and suspend counterfeit goods sellers/listings?

I was shocked recently when I started using eBay a little more regularly at just how many sellers of counterfeit goods are active.  I thought they'd cracked down on this activity years ago to the point where it was very difficult to find any fake gear on eBay.

Unfortunately I found myself in receipt of a fake item a couple of weeks ago, and the seller wasn't willing to abide by UK laws so I opened a case and then after a few days back-and-forth asked eBay to step in, at which point they generated a returns label and gave me a full refund (as I was entitled to).

What is disappointing though is to come online and see the same listing still live, and the seller still active with a total of 594 items for sale, ALL of which are dropshipped fake goods from China, and can be easily identified as such since the seller is using all the same photography that appears on sites such as DHgate.

So my question is: why isn't eBay actively doing anything about this seller, and all the others I was easily able to find.

Unfortunately the feedback you left can be removed if the seller asks eBay.

Ebay never see the item, fakes, counterfeit & in style of items are not allowed, even if stated, if it isn't genuine, can't be sold.

This is why ebay provide MBG, so buyer can get refund,

main problem is if you buy from China, normally you have to pay return tracked postage.
