When creating a listing how can I select a category "Model Aircraft Engines"

The list of categories available in the listing ceator seems limited to the master headings such as "Toys and Games" under which model engines in general are listed and RC Model Aircraft Engines" or similar which are way,way down the pecking order. I would like to be able to pick a category which stares with the words "Model aircraft Engines" or similar.

There are listings our there which begin with the master heading "Model Aircraft Engines". How do we lose the irrelevant headings in the category box and home in on the correct heading for what I am selling? I am unable to find my own listing via the "Toys and Games" route and am getting increasingly frustrated by this.

In one of my searches while investigating this problem I seem to have got a number to appear in the Categories box - something like 6334 or some such. This indicated to me that there is a way of calling up a very specific category but the number disappeared and I am unable to reproduce it...... feel I'm losing my mind!

So, Help! guys.......

there isn't a main category with that title

you have to use the browse category option to find the best fit for your item

most engines I've seen are in:-

• Toys & Games
• >
• Radio Control & RC Toys
• >
• RC Model Vehicle Parts & Accs
• >
• Engine, Exhaust & Fuel Systems
• >
• Petrol/Nitro Engines

Yeah, I've done that and the listing I am referring to is already under that main heading. Some sites come directly under one of the sub-categories, and that's what I want to achieve. Only trouble is I seem to be stuck with "Toys and Games" as my starting point instead of , say, "Model Aeroplane Engines". So still not getting where I want to be.....

OK, there's one that goes "Aeroplane engines/Radio Controlled model aircraft/model aircraft engines diesel/ Radio controlled model aircraft engines/ model engines..... It carried 580 hits when I took down the header for my opening emaill....

OK Here goes:
I signed in to the 'select category' box with the phrase "Model Aircraft Engines" the first item on the resulting listi
is "ASP180FS, four stroke rc engine for rc model aircraft" Whe3n I go to that item it does come under "toys and games" so it looks as if I have to rely on the people to search have to go with their own search phrase and I have to try and anticipate it......Seems I have my answer

by 'select category box' do you mean the search bar at the top of the page?

when you type something in that box ebay shows you listings that match that search phrase


if you want your items to appear when someone searches for a model aircraft engine, you need to use the words 'model aircraft engine' in your title and item specifics
