Unpaid item

I have contacted a buyer who has not paid (6 days after winning) and they now say they did not read the description until after bidding. Over many years of buying and selling on eBay this has never happened to me. Not sure what best course of action is as not too happy at someone who states that they have not read the description until AFTER bidding. Can anyone assist? Thanks

You have two choices.  Either issue them a cancellation request selecting buyer and seller agree to cancel,  but they have to accept this for your fees to be refunded.  If they decline,  you are stuck with paying the fees.  If they ignore it,  you can close it yourself for your fees,  but only after 10 days.

Or,  issue them an unpaid item case,  close after 4 days.  Your FVF are refunded,  the buyer gets a non payment strike on their account,  and you can relist if you wish.

Put all non payers on your blocked buyers list so they do not return.
