Hi
should it be standard practise to send things tracked, judging by the ammount of 'items not delivered' that I've been getting. It reduces any profit but I'm getting sick of having to refund when ebay always goes in the buyers favour. Am I right in thinking that if ebay have tracking confirmation that shows delivery has been made the decision goes in sellers favour? other than RM signed for, other cost effective ways of having this? (for post box size items. case in ponit: i recently hand delivered an item locally and the buyer claimed not delivered (it then magically appeared)
The situation is that - if something is lost - then providing you used a correct postal service you can claim from Royal Mail. Obviously you need proof of posting.
Up to £20 with 1st or 2nd class. To £50 for signed for and Special Delivery over that.
1st and 2nd class parcels have a 16-digit reference number included which while not providing tracking shows "scanned at doorstep" which is fine for eBay.
You are quite right that if tracking/scanning shows delivery even if not to your buyer then you need not refund. No tracking/scanning then straightforward refund and claim from RM
