Told I owe money from account I no longer use

I have just received an email from eBay telling me that I owe them money from an account that I have not used for a long time. I still use eBay but have set up another account.

I am 88 years old and I find this both confusing and worrying

Are you sure this is genuine, never click on any links in email.

If you do owe ebay money they will pass debt on to collection agents, so may be correct.

Can you ask a relative/friend to check this for you?

If you owe money, ebay will suspend this account as well until you sort it.
