Third Party Debt Collection

Hi. I've received a letter from Allied International Credit UK Ltd saying that eBay have passed on a debt to them for collection. I don't owe anyone anything and eBay confirmed that I don't have any outstanding debts. I think it's a scam and not sure what to do? I am now worried about it. Any suggestions welcome, thanks, Lindy

It isn't likely to be a scam. EBay regularly uses debt collectors to recover unpaid fees. Several other users have posted here to say that eBay must have given them the wrong user's details.

In your position I would just write back to let them know what you've told us. If you don't owe the money you don't have anything to worry about.

This company does exist, so try googling. One search gives details of how to deal with them, they have to provide evidence that a debt exists before they can collect, so see if there is any useful FREE advice as to how to get them off your back.
