Think I've Messed Up a Return ...

Started a return 2 weeks ago and, having heard nothing in the interim from the seller (who sold me a dress with no label of any sort which was meant to be size 16 but had a 36" bust, which is a 10 or 12 according to the -alleged- manufacturer's sizing guide), I looked on eBay and saw I was meant to send the item back "by 30th October", so - as it seemed plenty long enough to have waited for a response - I posted it yesterday in order to speed things along.  I've just remembered to update the return status as 'dispatched', but when I came to do that it asked me for a tracking number.  It's been about a couple of years since I've needed to return something and I'd completely forgotten it needed to be sent tracked unamused

I'm pretty sure that the page that I looked at telling me the date by which the return had to be sent DIDN'T mention anything about sending via tracked mail - if it had, it would have jogged my memory!  Of course I got a proof of posting, but that butters no parsnips when it comes to entering a tracking no. on the return status cry

What do I do now?  The seller seems to be a wrong'un as I now discover she / he has several instances of bad feedback for both bad communication and attributing wrong sizes to label-less items.

You should have opened a return case in the resolution center.

If your proof of postage as a number you could open a case now and try entering that.

Although you might be out of time for an ebay case but you could open a case in paypal.

Without some form of proof of return, neither Ebay or PayPal will help.
