Is it me or does ebay think all their users are thick!

We are FORCED to stop using PAYPAL

We are FORCED to give our DOB

We are told we have NO MORE paypal fees

THEN WHAT
Ebay charges 12.8% Final value fee

0.30p on every transaction

AND 

3% on anything above £2500

Ebay is a money grabbing self appointed dictatorial bunch off wealthy elites.

Yet all the time EBAY charges final value fees on Postage costs

EBAY also charges final value fees on VAT collected by those that are private sellers selling an item that includes VAT

As far as I know it is illegal in the UK to profit from collected taxes

I hope there is a tax inspector out there reading this.

I have been a customer of Ebay since 2005, it now seems that they have reached some real heady heights of corruption.

Next they will be charging us to collect their fees from our bank accounts!!!!

Is it just me or are their others that have seen this - is there anything that can be done apart from cancel and move on to another selling platform.

Does anyone out there know of a better selling platform other than ebay?

You need to get some of your facts correct.

The answer to your rant is EBAY'S SITE Ebay make the rules. No one forces you to use ebay.

Managed Payments is run by Adyen, who do not work for free, and if you can work it out charges are very slightly less than before.

I think you should be very careful about accusing ebay of Corruption, ebay could take legal action if they could be bothered, I hope you have very deep pockets.

instead of paying 10% to ebay and 2.9% to paypal you now pay 12.8% plus 30p to ebay only, a saving of 0.1%

private sellers cannot charge VAT

so this statement is utter rubbish:-

ebay charge fees based on everything the seller receives, item price and P&P,  exactly the same as paypal

I don't think you understand how VAT works, if you are VAT registered and you are selling an item that attracts VAT you have to charge VAT at the current rate, when that is part of the selling total, ebay charges their final value on that VAT element, which in the UK is illegal, as it is illegal to make profit on collected taxes.
