can someone explain why I have been taxed on my latest purchases? Is it because I live in N.Ireland? Despite the fact that it is also part of the UK.
No you should not be charged if you are in NI which is the UK and the item and seller are in the UK.
Are you sure the seller is in the UK

Country of Registration ... click their > 'Items for sale/View listings' < links to see Seller information in the left column ... can often be different and, if either party is/are registered/situated anywhere outside the UK, it will trigger an additional 20% VAT fee.
