Suspect Returns

I am feeling very frustrated and wondering if any other ebay sellers have had similar experiences as I am relatively new to this?
I had taken the time to package up an item throughly with bubble wrap/boxed and "fragile" tape, which incidentally cost me more to post than the person paid - once they received it they asked for a refund as it was damaged!! The item certainly did not leave me like that and I can't help wonder if they just "changed their mind" and using the excuse of item not being as described??
I have sold a few items recently via eBay as I am moving and having to downsize, but these experiences are definitely putting me off as I feel the Seller is not particularly protected by ebay in this - despite it saying "no returns accepted" you are expected to refund as you will receive negative feedback from the Buyer if you don't!! Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and how they handled the situation - thank you in advance

Loads of other sellers have had the same problem!

You can forget what eBay claims about sellers not having to accept change of mind returns.

In all but name, eBay offers buyers a free, 30 day trial period. If a buyer changes their mind about wanting the item, all they have to do is invent some supposed fault. EBay will take their word, and require the seller to refund them in full. No evidence is required. If the seller wants the item back, they must send the buyer a prepaid return label.

Sellers can count themselves lucky if they get the item back in the condition sold, or even the same item. Many sellers claim that buyers have returned items that they have damaged, removed parts from or even switched for another one, but they've still been required to refund them.

EBay's money back guarantee to buyers is so wide open to abuse that this has become a very risky place to sell things.
