Was the message sent to your personal email address or was it an eBay message?
I think if the message was sent to your personal email address, it is likely to be a phishing email trying to get your details. As far as I am aware eBay would send messages via the eBay messaging system. not email.
You casn't send an email to eBay. To contact eBay you have to use the Help & Contact link at the top of the page and keep trying the options until you get the one you want. You may have to scroll down to see the contact options.
