We sold an item a couple of weeks ago.
It was advertised at £150 plus £35 postage but the buyer negotiated a price of £125 and said they would arrange collection.
However after we put the £125 price on for them to purchase they bought it but forgot to click the collect option, so eBay billed them £160.
We said no problem just pay £125 by paypal and arrange your collection.
They did that and the item was collected by DPD the next day.
We have now received an unpaid surcharge for the item from Parcel2Go for £42.50
I can understand how some of it happened, but here's the thing - we rarely use parcel2go and never have through eBay. The item actually still shows on eBay as being 'ready to dispatch, buy postage now'.
So how on earth has the buyer managed to arrange the collection and charge it to us?
And for that matter how did they get Parcel2Go to collect it without paying them upfront - we don't even have an account with them?
I'm a bit puzzled about the purchase price. EBay records the item as being sold for £150 plus postage, not £125. EBay wouldn't have accepted £125 in payment. So either you are not on managed payments, or the buyer paid you privately, not through eBay checkout. Not that this matters with regard to the courier
As for Parcel2Go, most deliveries are booked by the seller so my guess is that they just sent it to you by mistake. Even though you don't have an account, as a previous user they probably still have your address on record. Anyway, as you didn't arrange the courier just tell them so, and refer them to the buyer.
