My daughter listed and sold a New Louise Vuitton Bag on my Ebay Account on 18/10/19 for £908.99 just before Christmas the buyer said the item was fake and had evidence. on 19/12/19 we agreed for her to return the item with evidence for a refund. She then opened an Ebay Dispute. Nothing was heard for about two weeks, she then opened a paypal dispute. The item was received back last Saturday with no evidence and in a obviously used condition. Paypal the refunded her without notice/advice to me. The Ebay dispute is still open and I have no way of closing it or trying to get the original Ebay fees back - any advice please ?
The buyer would have been too late to open an eBay dispute so you would have been unwise - perhaps - to "agree" to it.
She then opened a Paypal dispute where the time limit is 180 days and Paypal refunded [presumably the canny buyer escalated after 2 days]. There is as you have found no way to get your eBay fees back save through an eBay case.
Paypal does not have to contact you. What seems to have happened practically is that the buyer used the bag for some sort of event and then returned. While many would say that you were [in some ways] lucky that they did not simply return a cheap bag through eBay the only thing to do is to call Paypal and see whaat they may do for you.
Please report back here!
The ebay case will eventually go away. The buyer would have been out of time by the time they opened it, soreally it is in limbo.
If it was valid it would not have been possible to open a Paypal case. Is it possible that evidence was supplied to Paypal, as they would I suspect want to see it before forcing a refund.
When did they open the ebay dispute? They had 30 days and if it was bought before Christmas were they out of time
It would be surpising if they were able to open a paypal dispute when an ebay dispute was in progress.
If they claimed Fake in the dispute on paypal then paypal should have made sure there was some evidence.
Did she say Fake on the dispute
There may be nothing you can do but I would phone paypal and complain that the buyer did not supply the evidence of the item being fake
A lost of items on ebay as fake and especially top brands
Where did your daughter by the item and did she have a reciept
You do seem to have sold a few Brand new expensive Vuitton items
The other problem is that it says I only buy and sell authentic items
If you are buying to sell then you have to be registered as a business f
