Shipping via GSP

I have shied away from using GSP  in the past because as far as I can see you had to measure each package HxLxW  (rather than just weigh it as in Royal Mail for example). Is this still the case ? this would add ages to my daily shipping process - as nearly each package is a differnet size and weight.

BUT it seem using GSP is the only way to avoid the new Post-Brexit VAT/Import charge madness.

I am right in this ?

There is no Post Brexit Wat Import madness.

The changes are from HMRC

Other countries are doing the same thing

You also have to wiegh and measure Royal Mail items.

It is very expensive for buyers to buy on GSP

You send to the address in the UK at the UK postage price

The buyer pays extra to ebay for their agents to post on

They will still have to pay any taxes due

i don't have to measure on Royal Mail. I know the parameters so you don't need to list dimensions. I'm not apportioning blame either, but things have changed, and meanwhile, I cannot see anywhere to get an IOSS number from ebay.

You may know the dimensions of RM as do I but they are still measurements. The same applies to GSP which is fairly straight forward The item must weigh no more than 30kg and be no larger than 125,000 cm³, and no longer than 120cm on the longest side. It should be worth no more than £2,000 so once you get to know them you will not need to measure those either. I think it would be very expensive to sell the items you sell on GSP. You may be better still posting yourself overseas.

ok, i think we agree, but my question still remains: how do I get /see a IOSS number no-one in ebay support could managed to tell me, even though i have had several messages saying I need one.

Dont you get that from HMRC. I am not a business but you could try the business boards under Discussion at the top of the page then Seller Central or just google it
