Sending a PayPal invoice

I am in the UK and have sold an item to someone in the US. She wants me to invoice her through PayPal for the book and tracked & signed for, rather than use the GSP option. How do I do this, if indeed I can.

Not possible...if sold via GSP then that's the way it has to be sent.....any other option becomes an off eBay deal & risks a ban

''.... so how do I opt out of Global? ....''

As advised ... inflexible, expensive system, especially for smaller items and you can find an Opt Out option in the small print here   >

https://sellercentre.ebay.co.uk/private/global-shipping-programme

As suggested > you could Mutually agree to Cancel > https://resolutioncentre.ebay.co.uk/    and then relist, setting your own International Postal rates using the RM/Post Office pricing guide > www.postoffice.co.uk/mail/international-standard  > or > the excellent (eBay member guide) to UK and International postal rates > www.seajays.org.uk/postage/

you can't bypass the GSP in that way,

once an item has sold through the GSP the buyer has to pay the GSP amount

If you have sold through GSP then you can't. Offering GSP on your listings then trying to avoid it is not a good idea. You do know that if you look in postage you can see all the Overseas Postage for all Countries. Buyers can see it as well and should not buy unless they are prepared to pay te cost.

GSP is VERY expensive, and you would find buyers prefer to deal direct rather than going through an expensive middleman. I have seen flimsy bits of underwear sell for 99p with Globals Shipping Costs of over £11 for Europe, for the USA would be even worse.

You should agree with buyer to cancel the sale. Opt out of Global and relist to be bought again with YOUR postage costsquoted.

If the sale has gone through using the GSP system then the only way that I can think of is to cancel the sale and relist as a Buy it Now and tell the buyer to buy it again.

GSP may not be a good option for books. If coming into UK they are free of duty and VAT.

I have never heard of sending a Paypal invoice if you are selling on ebay - that suggests an off ebay sale

@womaninwhite

Now you have sold it with Globel Shipping Programme then that is how you have to send it.

You could cancel with the agreement of the buyer and relist it for them

you would have to make sure it was not on GSP

They knew when they bought it it was GSP and should have contacted you before buying

You would have to Cancel the Sale and Relist not using Global Shipping.
