Hi, it says on my account the first 1000 items to sell are free then it's 35p each, I assume the 10% of final value still stands and this is just for the inserting advert fees? Also I read some people complaining about extra fees. Some say they were charged 15% not 10% and some mentioned an extra 4% but I don't know what for 🤔 are there any hidden extra fees with ebay? First time in six years I only ever sold a table before! Also does ebay send the payments directly to my bank account or do I have to deal with PayPal and then PayPal add their own fees? As I normally just pay using my card in ebay, not through PayPal.
Thanks
If you are rely on what other people tell you it's not surprising you're confused!
You need to read eBay's fees for yourself, see: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/fees-private-sellers?id=4364&st=12&pos=1&q..., or https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/fees-private-sellers?id=4822 if you're now on eBay managed payments.
The system is changing, and you will know whether you're on managed payments because eBay will have required you to provide a bank account number to receive your sale proceeds.
In short, if you're still on the old system, you will pay eBay and PayPal fees separately.
If you're on managed payments the buyer will pay eBay, and ebay will pass it on to you less their fees. There will be no separate PayPal fees.
Whichever system you're on, the fees will be much the same. As a rule of thumb, allow for fees of about 15% of the total sale price including postage - more if you use optional, paid-for listing features.
