Hello all
Just a note I am adding:
I AM NOT TRYING TO BREACH EBAY POLICY OR BREAK ANY RULES.
I AM REACHING OUT FOR HELP ADVICE AND CLARITY
THANK YOU X
I hope someone can help me. I list many travel/ sample sized cosmetics on my primary account
Recently, with some brands (i believe those connected to Loreal), when i try and list something new it says:
It looks like there's a problem with this listing.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to complete your listing. You’ve reached your listing allowance and won’t be able to list any more of certain top cosmetics brands in Health and Beauty category.
To continue selling top cosmetics brands in this category, you’ll need to register as a business seller. In some of these cases, your listing allowances may be increased.
However, other brands not linked to Loreal I am able to list without a problem.
I did some research and understood that i could make another account to sell the health and beauty samples there. (The account I am currently writing from)
I was able to list 3, however when I just tried to make a 4th listing i got the same message (above)
- even though i had only listed 3 items so far.
I am confused because if the accounts were connected in the selling allowance then why did ebay let me list 3 before blocking the 4th?
I have tried to call ebay 3 times to get some clarity: how long will the limit last, am i able to list new Loreal items when an active listing sells?
Each time i have spoken to someone they say they are unsure and give me different answers:
- The limit lasts only a month and i will be able to list extra next month
- The limit lasts forever and i will never be able to list a new Loreal product
- The only way I can list extra Loreal items is if i switch my entire account to a business acount but in that case i will lose promotional offers eg free listings.
Anybody have some knowledge on this issue it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
You are selling brand new products
If you buy to sell then you are a business whether you want to register as one or not
You have to have your business adress on your listings
If you dont register you are breaking the law
As a business you can not say No returns accepted
If you are selling a lot of new items then you are a business and not entitled to Free promotions
Some brand owners do not like their products on ebay and you can be reported
Check out the Vero programme at the bottom of the page.
Where are you buying your items from ? The brand owners may only sell to certain outlets
if you have been warned on one account then you should not be listing on another one opened for the products
You can be suspended for doing that
It is an offence in eBay to open new accounts in order to byoass restrictions......so I have no idea why you thought that was an option
You would need some way to prove why you had large quantities of travel size products to sell as a private seller & eBay will be thining that way......you would need some form of legitimate supplier & that in turn would require business registration.......do not assume you will be allowed to continue listing in that category for much longer no matter what the brand
You need to change one of your accounts as a business account to sell the new items......which you will have to pay to advertise & retain your old account as private for your personal used goods thus retaining offers & promotions on legitimate private seller items
You should be aware that you cannot sell part used pefrumes etc & that it would ba a criminal offence to try posting them via Royal Mail as well as them being restricted by most UK couriers
Setting up the new account was suggested to me from one of the people I spoke to on the phone! lol.
Please can anyone else who replies to this not assume i am trying to breach eBay policy. otherwise i wouldn't have posted this question. THANKS ❤️
Also - I dont sell partly used cosmetics so not sure why you added that on there
Quite possible that you have been reported under VeRo programme,
also you need to correctly register as a business, may help with being allowed to sell these new items.
