Why oh why do I keep getting caught out by Ebay selling items from countries out of the uk. My search is uk only yet i keep getting sellers from around the world. Made the mistake of buying from these sellers without checking there location as I presumed they were uk based as that was in my search criteria. 3 months I've been waiting for an item from china and now one from hongkong. But not paid for this one yet but did commit to buy. I've questioned seller to see if location of item is in uk.
Also Ebay!!! let's see direct contact details to get straight answers and enable complaints without going through countless links to nowhere!
Many sellers in China have a distribution base in the UK, which entitles them to list items as being UK stock. All too often the item is still sent from China!
Sometimes the only way to check that a seller is not abroad is to check their feedback page. At the top of this it will show the country in which they are registered.
If an item is misrepresented as being located in the UK, but is actually send from China, this is reportable to eBay using the reporting link provided in every listing (far right, opposite Postage and Payments).
Report Category: Select 'listing practices'.
Reason for Report: Select 'other listing practices policy violations'
Detailed Reason: select 'Item location misrepresentation'
If an item has not arrived by the latest estimated delivery date stated in the listing you can open a case under eBay's money back guarantee, see: https://pages.ebay.co.uk/ebay-money-back-guarantee/
You MUST act within the 30 day time limit. Still to be waiting after three months is ridiculous. It will be too late to claim through eBay now, but you can still file a dispute under PayPal's longer, 180 day buyer protection policy, see: https://www.paypal.com/uk/smarthelp/article/what-if-i-didn%27t-receive-my-item-or-it%27s-not-as-adve...
