I recently bought 2 refurbished (excellent condition) apple watches, series 3 (separately) from an eBay seller who promised a 6-month warranty. We never managed to get apple pay working on one of the watches and this watch later went dead. I returned the watch to the seller who has since informed us that the watch is water damaged and therefore not covered by the warranty. This is a water-resistant series 3 apple watch that has only been used for shallow bathing. The seller however tells me that it is not water-resistant because it has been refurbished. There is absolutely no mention of this on the item page.
I believe the water-resistance (and apple pay function) has been compromised by the refurbishment. The seller refuses to give a refund or a replacement and I seem unable to leave feedback or contact eBay. Could anyone advise, please? The watch was bought in March and I believe was defective. I was not informed of the lack of water-resistance.
If an item is not as described then you open a dispute and you have 30 days
OUt of that time then there is nothing you can do on ebay
Ebay and paypal money back guarantees are for items that are not as described when they arrive
and not a warranty.
Any warranty is between you and the seller.
If they are business in the UK then contact Citizens Advice for their help.
If overseas or a private seller then there is nothing you can do.
See the bottom of the page on the link where it says
