My father recently purchased a car party which is a used item. The item has rust and has previously been repaired, this wasn't mentioned in the listing. Dad wants to return it and seller has agreed if Dad then pays the original postage costs and then the seller will take 20% as a handling fee. And also dad has to pay the return postage. Can they do this? Dad being old fashioned has telephoned the seller, rather than gone through eBay for the return. What should he do next to ensure he receives a full refund? Many thanks
It should be returned via an eBay return, and a not as described reason should be selected.
The seller has 3 days to provide a pre-paid returns label, if they don't your Father can ask eBay to step in, who will provide a pre-paid label and charge the seller for it.
Sellers aren't permitted to charge a restocking fee.
