Seller refuses to cancel

one of my children bid on a broken laptop by mistake and as soon as they did it the auction ended so no time to retract.

I contacted the seller and explained to them and requested cancellation but they have told eBay they have already sent it out, 1 minute after the auction ended.

is there anything else I can do as they are demanding payment for what I can only describe as an expensive paper weight.

Unlikely they have sent it without payment,they will probably cancel as unpaid after 5 days and you would get an unpaid mark against your acount,one wont hurt you but 2 or more would see you unable to buy from many sellers.

Best to not stay logged in to eBay on your device

Why would logging out from my device help? 

Also at what point do eBay actually step in to help as this seller obviously gets his kicks from this.

An automated system only helps bad people and becomes frustrating, is there a way to contact eBay, as even when you click contact us your directed to community.

I'm so frustrated as I couldn't have done anything more.
