I was advised by eBay to open case for return because part of an order was not as described.
This was advised as the correct course of action to receive a partial refund.
The seller has accepted the return and refunded the amount paid for the whole purchase.
Not the result I was expecting, based on ebays advice.
Can anything be done now?
The seller is less than helpful.
Not the first time Customer Services have given out the wrong information, shame you did not come to us first.
Opening a case requires the seller to refund you fully. eBay do not work on partial refunds. This has to be agreed upon by both parties before a case is opened.
Did you send the item back ? This is usually required before that full refund is issued.
