Seller Refunded me for no particular reason

Hi

Just bought an item for  a buy it now price of £50 however following day the seller refunded my money with an exceuse that he couldnt afford to send it to me because his paypal account was on hold.

the truth is more likely  to be that he has been offered more money for the item of ebay because i did get it for a good below average price however he set the buy it now price and i bought the item and i want it.

I do not feel this constitutes a good reason to refund me my money

he did say i could still have the item if i was prepared to pay him direct into his bank account..which of course im not prepared to do as i want the security of paypal as he stated in his listing.

So i contacted him and asked him why he cant afford £5.00 to send a phone to me which weighs no more that 100grms he could probably send it tme for considerably less than that fully insured and signed for he actually charged me £8.00 postage for second class signed for  for an item that weighs very little indeed.

I also said that if it came to it I was prepared to wait for his paypal account to unfreeze however..i dont understand why im being refunded just because he cant gfget his money out of his paypal account..he should still send it to me as that is not a valid reason to refund me.  he refused to answer my email

I have tried to contact Ebay but i just keep going round and round in circles when i try to report the buyer..it is very frustrating as i want ebay to do something about it

any advice or help would be greatly appreciated as i dont think he should get away with this kind of beheviour

I was wondering as i only completed the transaction 3 days ago if that is the reason why i cant get anywhere with ebay yet ..it is too early to report the buyer or something.

the message was the same all the time when i click the contact EBay it said "we have provided you with the information that you need to sort this out" but they never provided me with anything at all so i really dont know what to do

Thanks

Stuart

eBay cannot force a seller to honour a deal but as they don't like their buyers being messed about, they allow you to leave appropriate feedback.  Red or grey feedback counts as a 'defect' on a seller's account and too many of those will toast the account.

Feedback should not mention eBay, Paypal or any kind of dispute / report - something simple like "refunded my instant payment & refused to sell" would not breach the policy - you would of course use your own words.

Then walk away and find a decent seller, there are still plenty on the site and they deserve your business.  Sorry that you have been messed about on this one.
