I beleive I have been a target of a pair of scammers. I have had 2 random bidders bid up one of my auctions, one of them has been a member for 2 months the other became a member on 14th February the night the auction started. Between them they have bid the auction up to £140 on the first day of a 7 day auction. They have been emailing with all sorts of questions about the item despite they photos and description being very clear and concise. I have answered all their queries with any extra description that I could, one of the pair the newbie keeps asking to come and see the item to make sure it is as described and what he wants, I have told him I cannot give any location details and he should trust his judgement and my Ebay rating to make his offer. Now rthe other one says that his mate says the item in question was his and was stolen from his house and that he is instructing the police to that effect. I have told them that I have owned the item from new in 1988 and I don't deal with scammers. What can Ebay do in this instance to stop these sort of people messing people around. I had reservations about the two of them from the way the price escalated so quickly within two hours of listing.
Must be your Bike? Cancel their Bids. Enter Cancelling Bids and Managing Bidders into Help and Contact at the top of the Page. Then put them on your Blocked Bidders List.
"Ebay do in this instance to stop these sort of people messing people around."
Ebay provide the tools it is up to you to use them.
Follow the instructions already given.
I don't like the "Standard" in the method of delivery, HOW MUCH if anything would the Courier pay in compensation if lost or damaged. You would have to refund the buyer in full.

Many thanks.
I have been a member for 15 years but it is only now that I am selling off stuff that I have had for years. I have bought hundreds of items over the years with little or no problem except for the odd Chinese buy ( will we ever learn ) This is the first time I have come across this sort of problem when selling but as I said earlier I was a bit concerned when the bids took off so soon and with two newbie buyers. Still I haven't been completely caught out as I was wary. But thanks again for your help.
