Royal Mail

I think I mistakenly posted this as an answer to another post, which is ironic as I wanted to warn sellers about current major issues with Royal Mail deliveries. My experience is with UK only. None of my small parcels, which were posted at the beginning of December and one at the end of Nov, have been delivered. People have sent me Christmas parcels via Royal Mail and they have not arrived. Not one. The only Royal Mail that seems to be getting through is if it's a commercial sender (e.g. M&S) or if you use the most expensive postage option - guaranteed next day.  I posted a large letter item in my home town and it took 7 days to get to 5 miles away - still in the same town.

I have stopped using Royal Mail and now use a courier, either DPD or Hermes. They have both delivered promptly and efficently and follwed Covid19 protocols. One item only took 24 hours to get from Leicester to Dundee. That was Hermes.

So - beware. I know there are problems this year, but if the couriers can do it, then I don't see why Royal Mail is in chaos. Let's face it, Christmas comes as a surprise to them every year, they don't need an excuse. This year is the worst I've know it for lack of delivery. No small parcels from or to me have been delivered since the end of November. There's also no point in trying to find out what's going on as their customer service is useless, maybe, if they aren't too busy, they will get back to you in around 3 weeks, or maybe not.
